Hey, this is Kin Lane, and this is the API Evangelist Daily for Monday, October 26, 2026. Here’s what went up yesterday across API Evangelist and APIs.io, plus a few things from the shelf. Starting on API Evangelist, 12 posts went up yesterday. The first one is called a meter with no rate on it.

Salesforce is gonna charge flex credits when AI agents call into any production org. Every successful call a registered agent makes over MCP or straight through to the API gets counted as a headless platform interaction and draws down on your credits.

Then there’s automate projects, tasks, and team goals with Asana. Every growing team hits the same wall.

Work comes in from email, forms, support tickets, and chat, and someone has to copy it to the project tool by hand.

And next, calculate sales tax and file returns automatically with Avalara for anyone selling into more than one state or country and trying to charge the right tax on every order.

The other nine posts were Jira for issues, shipping the shape of the answer, start with the flow and not the agent, Stripe for payments, subscriptions, and invoices, the most programmable sectors in Australia.

The specification layer now has a home, Sentry for errors, releases, and cron jobs.

What 467 conformant A2A agent cards are actually offering? What sets Australia apart in banking and telco? What sets Australia apart in banking and telco? Over on APIs.io, there are 10 posts. Apigee runs MCP inside your own cluster, and its record has no MCP server.

Google has brought Apigee’s MCP server to hybrid for customers who run run times that can’t move. The first question back after last December’s preview was, Can I have this where my run time actually lives? Climate and sustainability has 1,276 providers, and Postman ranks first because of one tag.

Back in June, we wrote about the same vertical when it had 72 providers. Cloudflare wakes an agent with its first MCP event. Worker issues, Cloudflare built in error monitoring, now reaches agents as MCP events. It’s the first production use of this series, as seen as a feature that isn’t a specification yet.

The other seven posts are about Diffbot’s DQL search API, Ghost scoring 77.1 on 56 operations, Kong running review agents in CI behind its own, AI gateway, MolTrust saying a limit in a system prompt is only a request, then RAG use cases leaving out Pinecone, SIM and eSIM lifecycle across 13 providers, and lastly, token security on Anthropic’s compliance API.

This week’s Kin Score mover is Deputy. It went up 33 points from 23.7 to 56.7, which puts it in the strong band. That’s between the October 11th and October 17th scoring runs.

The provider spotlight is Fireflies.ai. It’s an AI meeting assistant that joins your calls on Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and then records, transcribes, and summarizes them. Kin Score is 71.1, which is exemplar, and agent readiness is 60.4, which we count as agent ready. From the Conversations archive, Greg Dennis, a senior software engineer at Zeil.

He was on my team at Postman as one of the people taking care of the JSON schema specification. He came by to talk about the difference between HTTP APIs and programming language library APIs. And from the shelf, the rotation is FAQ. How do I govern REST event-driven GraphQL and GRPC together?

You hold every protocol to the same obligations, a machine-readable contract, a named owner, a security model, a versioning policy, and data catalog entry. Then we use protocol’s native contract for format to enforce them. Guidance. Power. The asymmetric relationship between platforms, developers, and end users that APIs mediate.

Standards. The Equator Principles. A risk management framework financial institutions use to assess environmental and social risk in project finance. Investors. Emergence Capital. An early-stage B2B software in San Francisco since 2003. It made an early investment in Salesforce and was one of the only venture backers of Veeva’s 2008 Series A.

The country. The Netherlands. With 78 API providers on APIs.io, the most are in education and edtech with 15, the digital health with 9, and healthcare with 8. From regulation, the Drug Supply Chain Security DSCSA. It requires electronic package-level traceability for prescription drugs across the U.S. supply chain.

From the Toolbox, Apache Cayenne, an open-source Java ORM framework. That’s the daily. Everything I mentioned is linked in the show notes. You can find any API at APIs.io and see what we’re working on at apievangelist.com. See you tomorrow.
